I love TOMYAM cafe 我爱东炎

I am a HUGE tomyam fan... Anywhere i go, if i see any new tomyam eateries or stalls, I would definitely give it a try. This gem however, was found by my parents on their usual food hunt around Butterworth on their own.. This shop has already opened since last year but was just discovered not long ago by my family. Since then i have been many times to this shop, clearly it is that addictive!
Not only do they serve tomyam noodles, they serve a variety of food that caters to customers from all walks of life as well. So this is good news for a family with children who cannot take spicy food. The shop is a humble place run by the owner, Jaymond Tang and his girlfriend and it is located along the shoplot next to Raja Uda's Econsave.
To make it easy, all their individual meals are priced at RM6.80 per unit whole the drinks are at Rm3.80 per glass. They also serve small snacks priced at Rm1.80 per plate. They also have something special on the menu which is the big bowl noodle similar to those served at My Voice Cafe for those of you who are familiar with it. Prices and menu are as below:::

The tomyam noodle is by far one of the best i have tasted, apart from the ones that i have had at Bangkok before. The tomyam soup has my fav main ingredient which is the tomato, and its just the right taste of spiciness and sourness. Even though the side dishes for the tomyam noodle in the menu is fixed but the boss lets us 'customize' on our own. i always pick the fish, wanton (this taste delicious after soaked in the tomyam soup!), and crabstick. I have also tried the tomyam fried rice which comes with a  small bowl of tomyam soup for the tomyam lovers- perfect!

Tomyam with the 'default' side dishes of scallop, crabstick, fishball, 'sotong', fish.. Rm6.80

Whereas most of the other tomyam places serve your regular selection of drinks, this place serve a variety of ice-blended drinks at just Rm3.80. My personal favourite is the peppermint chocolate milk shake but the Oreo milk shake is a close second.

The curry mantou that I have tried had been served on the house by the owner. I love how the mantou is crispy and fried to perfection but personally i think the gravy has a more 'asam' taste rather than curry. haha. It still tastes good though.
