How Kee Seafood Village Restaurant @ Bukit Tambun

Call me crazy but I like to order non-seafood items at a seafood restaurant just to see if their 'side' dishes are as good as their main star dishes. Anyway, I have been many times to this restaurant with my parents. We have tried most of their food already and they were good and cheap compared to the other restaurants around this area. I especially love their mantis prawns.

Today, I had a craving for 'mi tiao' noodles, so we drove all the way from Butterworth to Bukit Tambun for it. We also ordered a bunch of other dishes to go with our noodles: salad you tiao a.k.a fried chinese breadsticks salad, zhao pai dou fu a.k.a signature tofu and last but not least, Marmite chicken- a dish that is commonly available in chinese restaurants here in Malaysia.

zhao pai dou fu RM10.60

'Mi tiao' noodles RM10.60

Marmite chicken RM10.60

Salad you tiao RM8.48
It was a satisfying dinner even though it was not the most expensive or luxurious one. Mi tiao was flavourful with plentiful of prawns, eggs and vegetables. Signature tofu was alright but I would not call it their signature dish. Salad you tiao was good as usual and this dish comes with an abundance of cabbage and carrots. I love to take each bite with a bit of the salad. Really good and crunchy! Only negative remark to make was that the mi tiao noodles and Marmite chicken dishes were smaller in portion than our last visit before GST started. Maybe next time we will order a 4-person portion instead.

Overall, total bill came up to less than RM50 which was as predicted. They did however charged us 6% for GST tax. Service was alright and prompt, paper napkins were provided and an appetizer dish of nuts was served while food was being prepared in the kitchen. End note: my craving for the day has been satisfied... :)
