Cameron Highlands 2 days 1 night 2016 itinerary

Our very first 'babymoon' trip was to Cameron Highlands on the 4th and 5th of March 2016 (Friday and Saturday). Advisable not to go during weekend or school holidays as the place is packed with tourists and the road will be very jammed. We decided on this place as hubby has never been to Cameron Highlands before and the weather is super HOT lately so it seems like the perfect spot to go for a relaxing 'babymoon' trip.

We took the E1 highway and took Exit 137 at Simpang Pulai and Route 185 & 59 to Brinchang. The road was much bigger and less nausea-inducing than the old road my dad used to take when I was a kid. We left from Nibong Tebal at 6.00am sharp and reached our first location of interest at 8.30am so the whole trip took only 2 hours 30 minutes.

1) Green View Garden

The first place we reached along the way up on our left was this beautiful place, and we ended up coming to this place twice-once on the way up and once on the way down- because we like it very much (also I was craving for the handcrafted ice-cream that they sell here! :p). They sell a lot of strawberry and other fruit products including chocolate strawberries which they give you samples to try before buying. I lurve the lavender and strawberry ice-cream although it is a bit costly at RM6.90 per piece, but you can taste the strawberry seeds inside and it is so refreshing.

Free admission
9am-6.30pm
Open daily
Parking available

 2) Cameron Lavender

This was our second stop along the way, you will see it on your right. You won't miss it as many tourist buses stop here. For me, this place has nothing much, you can see the fields of lavender from the parking lot itself and that is pretty much the only lavender you will see inside. They also have a farm if you climb further up, and you can pick your own strawberries but the price is higher compared to what you can get from the night market, so we did not purchase anything.

Entrance fee adult RM8, children RM5
Open daily
Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm
Friday-Sunday 9am-7pm
Parking available

3) Boh Plantation Tea Centre Sungai Palas

Next on the list is this beautiful tea plantation. When you see Ee Feng Gu Honey Bee Farm, be on the look out for a small road on your right which will lead you to this tea centre. You have to drive all the way up a steep and small road for about 15 minutes before reaching the parking lot and then you have to hike up about 5 minutes (in my case, with my 6-month-baby-bump ~~10minutes :p) to reach the place. The view is breathtaking and is worth the hike. We ordered passion fruit infusion tea and a slice of strawberry cheese cake (costs us RM13.60) so that we can enjoy our food while taking in the view and fresh air. On our way down, 2 Canadian girls hitch hiked our car and we brought them down and suggested a few places for them to visit while in Cameron.

Free admission
9am-4.30pm
Open Tues-Sunday (Closed on Mondays)
Parking available

 4) Uncle Chow Kopitiam

We then decided to grab our lunch at this quaint little coffee shop located in Tanah Rata. We read about this in a blog and wanted to try his nyonya food. We managed to find this place without any problem using the Waze app. We had a satisfying meal and would definitely recommend this place to other friends and family members. I love the curry laksa which was highly recommended by Uncle Chow himself.

Nasi lemak Rm9.90

Curry Laksa nyonya style Rm9.90
Open daily 8am-4pm
Parking available

After filling our tummies, we then proceeded to check into our hotel, Copthorne Hotel which I had already booked and paid for online. We booked the  room with a king size bed and breakfast for two is provided as well at only RM206 nett. However, the room was not up to standard as the carpet feels soggy and stained, the fan was not working and overall we feel the hotel has not been properly maintained. The swimming pool looks stunning in the picture on their website but the water was dirty and my hubby who brought his swimming trunks along, decided to skip swimming totally.

Breakfast for two

 5) Brinchang Night Market

This is what we have been waiting for the entire day. However, to our disappointment, it started drizzling just as we were preparing to head out from our hotel. Our hotel is only a mere 5-minute drive away. We ended up waiting in the car after parking our car for nearly an hour before the rain started to slow down. Not all the stalls were open and the ground was filled of puddles of rain water
every where. Navigating the road while buying things with an umbrella between us was not an easy task. But we managed to complete our shopping and went for dinner at about 7pm. We bought 6 boxes of strawberries for RM30 which is cheap in my opinion and some vegetables for my mum- 4 bundles of asparagus for Rm10 and 5 packets of small tomatoes for Rm10.

Only on Fridays and Saturdays (also on public holidays and school holidays)
 ~4pm to 10.30pm

 6) Rose Centre (in Kea Farm)

This place is just 2 minutes away from our hotel, so we decided to drop by the next morning after our breakfast. This place turned out to be totally worth every penny as the place is huge and full of all kinds of exotic flowers and plants. But you need to climb up many flights of stairs to get to the very top. We had so much fun taking pictures! Highly recommended to visit.

Entrance fee- adult RM5, children RM2
Open daily 8am-6pm
